Dialogue Session – Advancing Innovative Drug and Device Integration into Value-Based Payment Models

While office-based care, treatments, procedures and diagnostic services are commonly included in APM models, the field continues to lag when it comes to applying value payment reforms to address runaway costs for drugs and devices. This session will examine efforts – in the commercial sector, Medicare, and Medicaid – to slow cost increases, create pathways whereby providers are incentivized to recognize the costs of drugs and devices that their patients face, and strategies for giving patients access to more affordable products that will support improved health outcomes.
