Lunch Session Two: Q&A with CMMI Leadership: Providing Accountable Care for Complex Populations

Join CMMI Deputy Director Ellen Lukens and Chief Strategy Officer Purva Rawal as they take questions from the audience and speak to key CMMI priorities to provide accountable care for complex populations.

Public and private payers are actively rolling out APMs that increasingly focus on populations with complex needs.  The industry recognizes an increasing need to integrate specialty care providers into new and existing value-based and accountable care models. CMMI recently announced three new models related to the role of integrated behavioral health in advanced primary care, community-based dementia care, and advanced health equity at the state level.  Additionally, the Center is making specialty care integration a key feature of new models and its broader strategy. What will it take for these models to improve outcomes for target populations and engage new providers?
