Karen Frederick-Gallegos – Wellpoint

Karen Frederick Gallegos is the Director of Community Transformation for the Enhanced Personal Health Care Program, Anthem’s patient centered primary care program. In that capacity, Karen provides oversight and monitoring for the clinical and transformation teams working directly with approximately 30,000 providers across Anthem’s fourteen markets and impacting over 3.5 million members.

Karen has spent the past ten years working with the physician community to implement quality improvement initiatives; among them a multi-disciplinary initiative to engage primary care and specialty care physicians in developing a community-based, medical home approach and developing and overseeing the implementation of chronic care programs.

Karen received her degree in Liberal Arts from Colorado State University and has an extensive background in health care quality improvement, process re-design and is a certified green belt in Six Sigma and LEAN/Toyota Production Systems. Karen received a certificate in Community Organizing from Harvard’s Kennedy School.
