Melissa Dorsey has been with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for 3 years. Currently, Mrs. Dorsey serves as the Government Task Leader for the ESRD Network Program and is the QIN Coordinator for Quality Innovation Network (QIN) Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) 11th Statement of Work. Before joining CCSQ, Melissa Dorsey was a Senior Consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton (BAH) and prior to this position, she held the Project Manager position at Delmarva Foundation for Medical Care (DFMC/DFDC), the QIO for both the District of Columbia and Maryland. While working for the QIO for five years and a private consulting firm, she oversaw two CMS scopes of work (8th and 9th QIO SOWs) and worked on many federal agency contracts resulting improving the health of Medicare beneficiaries in many health care settings. She has worked directly with physicians and other clinicians and/or led the QIO in the areas of patient safety, quality improvement and collaborative initiatives, cultural competency/health disparities, physician adoption of health information technology, pharmacy, home health, and stakeholder engagement.She brings over 12 years’ experience in project and team management, quality improvement methodologies, and in-depth working knowledge on how electronic health information technology systems/ patient registries impact Medicare beneficiaries in various healthcare settings such as hospitals, physician offices, federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) dialysis facilities. Melissa possess as a wealth of experience in performance improvement methodologies, monitoring scope of work deliverables and tasks for reporting purposes. Mrs. Dorsey also consistently serves as the primary point of contact with CMS leadership, Contracting Officers, and creates an environment that supports the sharing of information between CMS and the QIO/ESRD Network stakeholder community.
