2D: Engaging Consumers in Payment and Delivery System Reform: Case Studies from the Field

The success of alternative payment models (APMs) depends in part on the engagement of consumers in their design, implementation, and evaluation. This session will explore ways that policymakers, plans, providers and advocates can engage consumers in clinical settings, through health care organizations, and via state and federal policy. Panelists will share their experiences using large-scale outreach, targeted education and training, and other methods to engage and organize consumers, and discuss how these approaches can be applied to various stakeholder groups for population-based payment models.
