Opening Plenary: Assessing the Nation’s Progress in APM Adoption

Join this keynote to hear results from the current study on the progress of alternative payment model (APM) adoption across the nation. The LAN’s recent data collection initiative, with voluntary participation from leading private and state payers across Commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare Advantage lines of business, measures spending in categories 3 and 4 of the APM Framework. This snapshot of the APM landscape helps to advance our understanding of the depth and breadth of payment innovation. Sam Nussbaum, Former Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at Anthem and Chair of the LAN’s Alternative Payment Model Framework & Progress Tracking Work Group, will discuss the importance of the LAN goals for accelerating APM adoption and our collective progress in achieving the 30% goal for 2016, highlight what was learned from this collaborative effort, and look toward steps for reaching the 2018 50% goal.
